Welcome to the official website for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science-South
Dakota [ASCLS-SD]. ASCLS-SD is a constituent society of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science [ASCLS]
and joins Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin in making up ASCLS Region V. Our
mission is to promote the profession of medical laboratory science and to provide beneficial services to those who practice
it. ASCLS-SD is committed to bringing professional VOICE, VALUE, AND VISION to each of our grassroot members. Our society members include clinical
laboratory scientists/medical technologists, clinical laboratory technicians/medical laboratory technicians, educators, managers,
industry representatives, and clinical laboratory science students. Clinical laboratory professionals teach, act as
resources for its customers, perform, develop, evaluate, correlate, and ensure ultimate quality in clinical laboratory testing
information. Our professionals collaborate with other health care professionals
and industry partners to provide critical testing information for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease.
Medical Laboratory Science professionals practice in clinical laboratories, forensic laboratories, physician offices, industrial
organizations, educational institutions, and research facilities.
